About Dasho Yeshi Wangdi
With a Bachelor of Technology (Honours) in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri, USA, Dasho Yeshi Wangdi has over three decades of distinguished service in Bhutan’s energy and economic governance. He has served in key leadership roles including Managing Director of Chhukha Hydro Power Corporation, Director General of the Department of Energy, and Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Royal Government of Bhutan.
Dasho Yeshi Wangdi played a pivotal role in hydropower development, power sector institutional reforms, and bilateral energy cooperation with the Government of India.
Background
For his exemplary contributions to the country’s hydropower sector, His Majesty The King of Bhutan awarded him the Red Scarf with the title of Dasho in 2013.
